Titans Silence Raiders

Becca Blue (So. • Kimberly) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season and Katie Berkopec (Fr. • Apple Valley, Minn.) tallied her first career shutout as UW-Oshkosh defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 1-0, in a women's soccer match held Wednesday (Oct. 6) in Milwaukee.

Blue recorded her match-winning goal in the 32nd minute of play (31:20). The scoring strike was one of three shots attempted by Blue in the contest.

UW-Oshkosh (4-6-1) finished the match with eight shots and three corner kicks. In addition to the three shots by Blue, the Titans also received two shots from Jessica Erny (Jr. • Wauwatosa).

Milwaukee School of Engineering (8-4-1) was limited to just five shots and three corner kicks. The Titans held the Raiders' Paula Bohl, who leads the NCAA Division III in both goals (18) and points (40), to just one shot. Milwaukee School of Engineering had four other players attempt one shot each.

Berkopec, who was appearing in her second match of the season, saved two shots. Her shutout victory featured one save in each half.

Emma Lumpe and Erin VandenLangenberg shared the goalkeeping duties for the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Both players participated in 45 minutes of the match, with Lumpe yielding one goal and VandenLangenberg recording the team's lone save.

UW-Oshkosh, which is unbeaten in both of its matches against the Milwaukee School of Engineering, hosts UW-Stout on Saturday (Oct. 16) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
