Titans, Eagles Play To Scoreless Draw

The first stalemate in the 22-game history between the UW-Oshkosh and UW-La Crosse women's soccer teams took place on Saturday (Sept. 25) as the two conference rivals battled to a scoreless double-overtime tie at J.J. Keller at Titan Stadium.

UW-La Crosse, which owns a 14-7-1 advantage in the all-time series, finished the contest with 14 shots and three corner kicks. The Eagles (5-2-1/0-1-1 WIAC) launched six shots in both the first and second halves and one shot in both the first and second overtime periods.

UW-La Crosse's shot total included the four of Danielle Grall, three of Saskia Taylor and two of Taylor Baker.

UW-Oshkosh, which played to its first scoreless tie since the 2005 season, concluded the match with 10 shots and three corner kicks. The Titans (3-4-1/0-2-1 WIAC) activated four of their shots in the second half and three in the second overtime period.

UW-Oshkosh's shot count was led by the two of both Caitlin Casey (Sr. • Waukesha) and Nicole Strieker (So. • Janesville).

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Brittany Walder (Jr. • Waukesha) came up with five saves in the 110-minute match, including three in the first half. The shutout was her first of the season.

UW-La Crosse goalkeeper Emily Wick saved two shots, one in the second half and one in the first overtime period. The shutout was Wick's fourth of the year.
UW-Oshkosh hosts nationally ranked and two-time defending WIAC champion UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday (Sept. 28) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
