Six Titans Earn CSC Academic All-District At-Large Nods

OSHKOSH, Wis.- Five members of UW-Oshkosh's gymnastics team and one from wrestling were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large team on Tuesday.

Five gymnasts were named Academic All-District including Adana Amor, Kaylie Berens, Delaney Cienkus, Liz Romano and Haley Volstad. The gymnastics team had a very successful season, winning their third consecutive WIAC title and second consecutive National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) title.

Amor, a senior Aurora, Ill. native, is a rehabilitation science major with a cumulative grade point average of 3.81. After the NCGA meet, she was named an Academic All-American. She volunteers with local elementary schools and works with Touch a Truck and the City of Oshkosh's Celebration of Lights. On campus, she coaches the gymnastics recreational classes. She also volunteers with local elementary schools and the Celebration of Lights.

A Golden, Colo. native, Berens owns a 3.89 cumulative grade point average as a management major as a junior. She is a member of UWO's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Honors College.

Cienkus, who is a sophomore rehabilitation science major with a 3.80 cumulative grade point average, is from Plainfield, Ill. She was the 2023 WIAC champion on the balance beam, tying the school record with a score of 9.825. The Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association put her on their All-America Second Team for her performance this season on the balance beam. She is a member of the gymnastics and kinesiology clubs on campus.

Romano is a sophomore biology major with a 3.80 cumulative grade point average. The Royersford, Pa. She is a multiple-time UWO Dean's List member and volunteers with Oaklawn Elementary School and the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry.

Volstad, a senior from Brooklyn Park, Minn., is a marketing major with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. After the NCGA meet, she was also named an Academic All-American. She was a member of SAAC in the 2020-21 academic year and has spent lots of time volunteering in various local elementary schools, the Celebration of Lights and Touch a Truck.

Luc Valdez from the wrestling team is a Risk Management and Insurance major with a 3.91 cumulative grade point average. He is a member of the UWO Finance Club and a finance intern at the Oshkosh Corporation. The senior from Tinley Park, Ill. has been named to the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll three times and the NCWA Academic All-America list twice. During the 2023 season, he won the 125-lb. WIAC title and was named the conference's Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete. He also earned the 2023 Jim Flood Senior Coaches Award at annual awards ceremony.
