Two Titans Earn NWCA Scholar All-American Honors
MANHEIM, PA—Beau Yineman and Luc Valdez represented the UW-Oshkosh Titans wrestling squad on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) 2022-23 Scholar All-America Team and Individual honorees list. The NWCA made the announcement on March 30, 2023.
Yineman and Valdez earned their third consecutive honors, having previously earned this honor in 2021 and 2022.
Yineman finished in seventh place at the NCAA Division III championships, earning All-American honors for the second straight year. Valdez competed at the NCAA tournament and earned the WIAC's Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award.
There were 364 individuals who received honors, with 88 institutions earning team recognition.
Nominees must have at least a 3.2 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer praised the student-athletes, stating, "I am honored to recognize these outstanding individuals who have excelled not only in their athletic pursuits but also in their academic endeavors."
