Titans Drop Battle Against Auggies
OSHKOSH, Wis.—The Titans claimed three victories as the UW-Oshkosh Titans fell to the nationally ranked Auggies of Augsburg University. The Titans fell 36-10 to the Auggies in Albee Hall this afternoon.
Luc Valdez won in sudden victory over Derek Steele of Augsburg (SV-1 2-0) in the 125 bout to put the Titans up early. In the 133 match, Denis Murphy posted a 3-2 decision over No. 13-ranked Cade Willis.
Beau Yineman, who holds the No. 2 ranking in the latest NWCA rankings, posted a major decision victory over No. 12-ranked Parker Venz of Augsubrg.
The Titans fell at 141, 149, 157, 165, 174, 184, and in the heavyweight class.
The Titans return to action on January 28, traveling to the Pat "Flash" Flanagan Open in Dubuque, Iowa.

At the NWCA National rankings, released on January 18, 2023, Yineman sits at No. 2 in the national rankings at 197. In the Upper Midwest regional rankings, Valdez sits at No. 5 at the 125-weight class and Yineman at No. 1 in the region.
