Yineman Named WIAC Wrestling Athlete Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh sophomore Beau Yineman was chosen as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Kwik Trip Wrestling Athlete of the Week for events held Feb. 8-14.

Yineman went unbeaten in three 197-pound contests, including a pin of the nation's top-ranked wrestler, to improve his season record to 4-0 and career mark to 36-6.

Yineman accounted for all of UW-Oshkosh's points during the Titans' 34-6 home loss to UW-La Crosse on Feb. 9 by sticking the Eagles' Isaac Lahr to the mat in 6:09 of the contest's opening bout. Lahr, the defending conference champion at 197 pounds, entered the match ranked number one in the NCAA Division III by D3wrestle.com.

Yineman then picked up two more victories during UW-Oshkosh's 26-14 loss to UW-Eau Claire and the Titans' 36-7 win over UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 12 in Stevens Point. Yineman earned a lopsided 17-1 decision over UW-Eau Claire's James Huntley before winning by fall over UW-Stevens Point's Jerry Lipke in 5:30. Huntley and Lipke were both listed as national title contenders by D3wrestle.com.
