Division II Rangers Handcuff Titans

NCAA Division II member UW-Parkside won seven of the 10 weight classes, including four by a pin, to defeat the UW-Oshkosh wrestling team, 38-12, on Tuesday (Dec. 2) in Somers.

UW-Oshkosh (1-1) gave UW-Parkside a quick six points on a forfeit to Ronzel Darling at 125 pounds. The Rangers then doubled their lead on Joseph Her's pin of Jonathan Flores in 4:14 at 133 pounds.

UW-Oshkosh got three points back when David Leisgang edged Adam Yde, 6-4, at 141 pounds.

UW-Parkside then won the next four contests, including two by a pin, to open up a 32-3 lead. The Rangers received pins in 5:43 from Brandt Welcher over Hunter Mulock at 157 pounds and in 2:05 from Nick Fishback over Derek Hermanson at 165.

UW-Parkside (2-0) took the 149-pound match as Aaron Heidersheid defeated Joe Pelkey, 11-4. The Rangers' Brett Scoles won the 174-pound contest with a 16-0 victory over Michael Berg.

Following a UW-Parkside forfeit to Parker Knueppel at 184 pounds, UW-Oshkosh's Korey Kleinhans made the score 32-12 with his 11-4 victory over Jake Armellani at 197.

UW-Parkside closed the match with Matt Halverson's pin of Alan Dahlke in 6:52 at 285 pounds.

UW-Oshkosh will compete at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational on Saturday (Dec. 6).
