Kulchytskyy, Schiferl Gather All-WIAC Wrestling Honors

UW-Oshkosh's Nazar Kulchytskyy and Dan Schiferl were among the 10 wrestlers named to the 2013-14 All-WIAC First Team.

One wrestler was voted to the squad at each of the 10 weight classes. Kulchytskyy earned the spot at 157 pounds, while Schiferl was the top selection at 174.

Kulchytskyy received the distinction for the second straight year. This season, he owns a 32-2 record with 17 pins. Kulchytskyy went 3-0 while recording two pins at the WIAC Championship on Feb. 15.

The school's all-time win leader, Kulchytskyy holds a career record of 133-5 with 63 pins. He won individual titles at the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Division III Championships.

Schiferl totaled a 26-4 record with seven pins this season. At the WIAC Championship, he marked victories of 18-6 over UW-Eau Claire's Jacob Hoffstatter, 10-2 over UW-La Crosse's Sean Huls and 5-1 over UW-Stevens Point's Andy Borchardt.

Schiferl's career features an 88-39 record with 32 pins. He was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2013 NCAA Division III West Regional.

The rest of the All-WIAC First Team included UW-Whitewater's Zac Denny at 125 pounds, UW-Whitewater's Jimmy Nehls at 133, UW-La Crosse's Cody See at 141, UW-La Crosse's Dylan Shaffer at 149, UW-La Crosse's Tyler Schneider at 165, UW-La Crosse's Eric Twohey at 184, UW-Whitewater's Shane Siefert at 197 and UW-Whitewater's Anthony Edgren at 285.

The Titans return to action on Saturday (March 1) at the NCAA Division III West Regional in Minneapolis, Minn.
