WIAC Honors Kulchytskyy For Third Straight Week

The WIAC has named UW-Oshkosh's Nazar Kulchytskyy as its top wrestler for the third consecutive week. Kulchytskyy's latest award was for events held Feb. 3-9.

Kulchytskyy defeated all six of his opponents during a dual meet against UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 7 and the Blugold Open on Feb. 8.

In UW-Oshkosh's 32-20 victory over UW-Eau Claire, Kulchytskyy pinned the Blugolds' Matt Koch in 45 seconds.

He then paraded through five opponents to win the 157-pound title at the Blugold Open. Kulchytskyy won the championship bout with a pin in 3:08 of unattached Joel Northrup.

Kulchytskyy opened the tournament with a pin in 1:17 of Luther College's (Iowa) Jesse Carlisle. He then posted a 24-8 win over UW-La Crosse's Keegan Einerson, a pin in 2:02 of St. Cloud State University's (Minn.) Tanner Schaefer and a 4-0 victory over Upper Iowa University's Jordan Rinken.
