Kulchytskyy Voted To All-WIAC First Team

After posting a perfect record against league foes, Nazar Kulchytskyy (Jr. • Sosnivka, Ukraine) made the All-WIAC Wrestling First Team.

The conference selected one first-team wrestler and one second-team member at each of the 10 weight classes.

Wrestling at 165 pounds, Kulchytskyy went 6-0 while pinning all six of his WIAC opponents. His victories included pins in 46 seconds over UW-Eau Claire's Matt Koch at the conference championship, 1:08 over UW-La Crosse's Derek Weinmann and 1:10 over UW-Whitewater's Willie Anaya.

This year, Kulchytskyy has an overall record of 33-1 with 20 pins. His season-best was a pin of Lakeland College's Wesley Colton in just 18 seconds.

Kulchytskyy's stellar career features a 90-3 record, 44 pins and the 157-pound title at the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship.

Remaining members of the All-WIAC First Team were UW-La Crosse's Izzy Balsiger at 125 pounds, UW-Whitewater's Grant Sutter at 133, UW-La Crosse's Adam Sheley at 141, UW-Stevens Point's Ben Strobel at 149, UW-La Crosse's JR Lewis at 157, UW-La Crosse's Kevin O'Brien at 174, UW-La Crosse's Eric Twohey at 184, UW-Stevens Point's Dustin Wozniak at 197 and UW-La Crosse's Billy Mayer at 285.

In order to be eligible for the all-conference team, wrestlers must have competed in a minimum of four conference dual matches at that weight class, including the conference championship.
