Titans Defeat Gusties, Win Three Events

ST. PETER, Minn.- The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team competed at the Sponberg Gymnastics Studio on Saturday (Feb. 10), beating Gustavus Adolphus College 191.650-188.550 to stay undefeated in WIAC competition this season.

The Titans scored 47.475 points on the uneven bars, 47.950 points on the vault, 48.225 points on the floor exercise and accumulated 48.000 points on the balance beam, winning the uneven bars, vault and floor exercise.

Emily Buffington (Sr. • Huntersville, N.C.) won the uneven bars, scoring 9.725 points. Sam Zeilinger (Jr. • Wheaton, Ill.), Lydia Hayden (So. • Broomfield, Colo.) and Reanna McGibboney (So. • Chester Springs, Pa.) finished second through fourth with scores of 9.700, 9.650 and 9.500, respectively.

McGibboney took the top spot on the vault with a 9.750-point performance. Mia Lucero (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) finished with 9.700 points for second and Amaya McConkay (So. • Broken Arrow, Okla.) scored a 9.600 for third place.

On the floor exercise, McGibboney won her second event of the day with a 9.775-point score. Following in second and third were Jay Ratkowski (Fr. • Franklin) with 9.675 points and Delaney Cienkus (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) with 9.650 points.

Hayden grabbed second-place on the balance beam, scoring 9.700 points. Cienkus was the second-highest scoring Titan with 9.650 points for fifth-place, while Kaylie Berens (Sr. • Golden, Colo.) scored 9.575 points for sixth.

Buffington finished the day with 37.800 points in her first all-around outing of the season. She scored a 9.725 on the uneven bars, an 8.975 on the vault and a 9.550 on both the floor exercise and balance beam.

The Titans will head to UW-Eau Claire to take on the Blugolds on Friday (Feb. 16) at 6 p.m.
