Titans Finish Above 190 Points At Illinois Quadrangular

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.- The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team recorded 192.475 points in the University of Illinois Quadrangular on Saturday (Jan. 13). West Virginia University and Western Michigan University also competed in the meet.

The Titans finished fourth among the three other Division I competitors with a 48.000 on the vault, a 48.500 on the uneven bars, 47.550 points on the balance beam and 48.425 on the floor exercise. The 192.475-point total score marks the sixth consecutive meet the Titans have scored at least 190.000 points dating back to the home dual against Winona State University (Minn.) on Feb. 16, 2023.

On the vault, Amaya McConkay (So. • Broken Arrow, Okla.) led Oshkosh with a career-best 9.775 points. Mia Lucero (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) and Reanna McGibboney (So. • Chester Springs, Pa.) both recorded scores of 9.725 points as the next highest scoring Titans.

Kaylie Berens (Sr. • Golden, Colo) finished her uneven bars routine with 9.800 points. Sam Zeilinger (Jr. • Wheaton, Ill.) scored 9.750 points and Lydia Hayden (So. • Broomfield, Colo.) recorded a 9.700 to round out Oshkosh's top-three. All three registered new career bests.

Hayden set a personal best and tied the program record on the balance beam, scoring 9.825 points for fourth place. Berens followed with a 9.700 and Liz Romano (Jr. • Royersford, Pa.) finished with a 9.600.

McGibboney led the Titans with an eighth-place, 9.800-point performance on the floor exercise. Emily Buffington (Sr. • Hunterville, N.C.) followed her with 9.775 points and Delaney Cienkus (Jr. • Plainfield, Ill.) and Jay Ratkowski (Fr. • Franklin) were the next highest Titan performers with 9.625 points each. Ratkowski set a new season-high with her score.

The Titans return to action on Friday (Jan. 19), traveling to Winona State for a 6 p.m. dual meet.
