Sawyer Receives WIAC Gymnast Of The Week Award

UW-Oshkosh sophomore Trinity Sawyer was chosen as one of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's two Kwik Trip Women's Gymnastics Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held March 15-21.

Sawyer, the league's top specialist of the week, took first place on the vault and second on the uneven bars during UW-Oshkosh's 188.100-181.900 victory over visiting Winona State University (Minn.) on March 18.

Sawyer defeating 11 other challengers on the vault with her winning and season-best score of 9.775. UW-Oshkosh teammates Emily Buffington and Haley Volstad finished second to Sawyer with a figure of 9.30.

Sawyer placed second on the uneven bars with a season-best score of 9.50. UW-Oshkosh's Buffington won the event with a grade of 9.625.

Annie Corbett of Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) was selected as the WIAC's top all-around performer for the week.
