Record Performance Lifts Blue Devils Past Titans

UW-Oshkosh's Dana LoCascio was a top-six finisher in three events during the Titans' 189.350-186.825 loss to the UW-Stout women's gymnastics team on Thursday (March 9) in Menomonie.

LoCascio placed fourth on both the balance beam and vault with scores of 9.55 and 9.525, respectively, while finishing sixth in the floor exercise with a figure of 9.35.

UW-Oshkosh had a pair of second-place results as Baylee Tkaczuk earned a score of 9.675 on the uneven bars and Kasandra Stamopoulos a mark of 9.65 on the balance beam.

The Titans' Danielle Turner compiled identical 9.575 scores in finishing third on the vault and fourth in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh also had Bailey Finin finish fifth in the floor exercise with 9.525 points, Bailee Hardy fifth on the uneven bars with 9.30 and Amanda McBrayer sixth on the balance beam with 9.375.

The Titans' Tkaczuk finished third in the all-around competition with 36.45 points.

Kaylee Jondahl and MacKenzie Nicholson were both double winners UW-Stout. Jondahl won the floor exercise with 9.80 points and the vault with 9.675 while Nicholson won the all-around competition with 37.475 points and the uneven bars with 9.775.

UW-Oshkosh's overall team score marked its second-straight result over 186 points and third of the season. The Titans reached their final amount with 47.15 points on the balance beam and vault, 46.925 in the floor exercise and 45.60 on the uneven bars.

UW-Stout set a school record with its final team calculation. The Blue Devils counted 47.775 points on the vault, 47.30 on the balance beam, 47.175 in the floor exercise and 47.10 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh returns to action on March 17 when it competes at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional in Winona, Minn. UW-Stout will host the 2017 NCGA Championship on March 31 and April 1.
