Blugolds Escape With Slim Victory Over Titans

Baylee Tkaczuk won three of the five individual categories and Dana LoCascio one during UW-Oshkosh's 185.200-184.925 women's gymnastics loss to UW-Eau Claire on Friday (Feb. 24) in Kolf Sports Center.

Tkaczuk headlined the meet's individual performances by taking first place in the all-around competition with 37.20 points and earning the top listing on both the uneven bars and balance beam with scores of 9.60 and 9.50, respectively. Her all-around score in UW-Oshkosh's final home meet of the season also included 9.225 points on the vault and 8.875 in the floor exercise.

LoCascio placed in a pair of areas as she won the vault with 9.45 points while finishing fifth in the floor exercise with 9.35.

UW-Oshkosh owned four of the top five scores on the vault and four of the top six values on the balance beam to tally its second-highest team score of the season.

In addition to LoCascio's ranking on the vault, UW-Oshkosh had Amanda McBrayer finish second with a season-best 9.425 points, Karen King third with 9.40 and Jessica Bernardo fifth with 9.375.

Besides Tkaczuk's placement on the balance beam, the Titans had Kasandra Stamopoulos finish second with 9.45 points, Bailey Finin fourth with 9.325 and Danielle Turner sixth with 9.275.

Finin and Turner also shared second place in the floor exercise with scores of 9.475.

The Titans completed their top-six efforts with Bailee Hardy's fifth-place score of 9.325 on the uneven bars.

Lauren Zurowski earned UW-Eau Claire's lone individual victory with her score of 9.55 in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh calculated its overall team score with 46.95 points on the vault, 46.55 on the balance beam, 46.20 in the floor exercise and 45.225 on the uneven bars.

UW-Eau Claire reached its final team score with 46.575 points in the floor exercise, 46.55 on the uneven bars, 46.425 on the vault and 45.65 on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh travels to St. Paul, Minn., for a meet against Hamline University on March 4.
