Warhawks Conquer Visiting Titans

Lisa O'Donnell won three events and set a national record with her first-place all-around score as the UW-Whitewater women's gymnastics team defeated UW-Oshkosh, 192.400-184.425, on Saturday (Feb.18) in Whitewater.

O'Donnell compiled 38.875 points in the all-around competition to establish a new National Collegiate Gymnastics Association score. Her all-around mark included first-place figures of 9.825 on the uneven bars, 9.775 in the floor exercise and 9.70 on the vault.

UW-Whitewater's McKenzie Foster completed the meet's list of winners with her first-place score of 9.75 on the balance beam.

Despite the loss to the Warhawks, UW-Oshkosh recorded its second-best team score of the season. The Titans tallied 47.425 points on the vault, 45.85 on the balance beam, 45.625 in the floor exercise and 45.525 on the uneven bars.

UW-Whitewater, which entered the meet ranked fourth nationally, achieved its third-highest team score in school history by totaling 48.225 points on the balance beam, 48.20 in the floor exercise, 48.125 on the uneven bars and 47.85 on the vault.

UW-Oshkosh's Dana LoCascio earned a pair of top six finishes by placing third on the vault with 9.55 points and sixth on the balance beam with 9.375. LoCascio shared her third-place ranking with UW-Whitewater's Chloe Rehberg and her sixth-place mention with UW-Oshkosh teammate Amanda McBrayer.

Baylee Tkaczuk marked UW-Oshkosh's highest event finish with her second-place result of 9.70 points on the uneven bars. Tkaczuk, who shared her uneven bars ranking with UW-Whitewater's Mackenzie Smith, also placed third in the all-around competition with 36.575 points.

The Titans' Jessica Bernardo counted 37.05 points to finish second in the all-around competition and 9.50 to share sixth place on the vault with UW-Oshkosh teammate Danielle Turner and UW-Whitewater's Courtney Pickett.

UW-Oshkosh also received a fifth-place score of 9.525 from Bailey Finin in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh hosts UW-Eau Claire in its final home meet of the season on Friday (Feb. 24).
