Titans Shatter Four Team Records In Narrow Loss To Ladies

The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team established four school records during its microscopic 191.450-191.250 loss to Centenary College (La.) on Friday (Jan. 27) in Shreveport, La.

UW-Oshkosh's list of record-breaking performances were all in the team category, including the overall score where the Titans surpassed their previous high of 188.475 points earned at the 2014 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championship.

UW-Oshkosh also set school marks with its 48.725 points on the balance beam, 48.025 on the uneven bars and 47.75 on the vault. The Titans tallied 46.75 points in the floor exercise.

Centenary College edged UW-Oshkosh in the team competition by scoring 48.30 points on the balance beam, 48.275 in the floor exercise, 47.80 on the vault and 47.075 on the uneven bars.

Baylee Tkaczuk was UW-Oshkosh's lone event winner. She tallied a pair of 9.825 scores to finish first on the balance beam and third on the uneven bars. Tkaczuk also placed third in the all-around competition with 37.175 points.

The Titans finished second in three categories, including the vault where Karen King and Danielle Turner both scored 9.675 points. UW-Oshkosh also had Bailey Finin in the floor exercise and Kasandra Stamopoulos on the balance beam place second with scores of 9.80.

UW-Oshkosh collected three other top-six scores on the uneven bars as Jessica Bernardo finished fourth with 9.725 points, Stamopoulos fifth with 9.625 and Bailee Hardy sixth with 9.50.

Turner followed her second-place effort on the vault with a third-place score of 9.75 on the balance beam and a fourth-place value of 9.725 in the floor exercise.

Dana LoCascio had a strong meet for the Titans by finishing fourth on the vault with 9.575 points and fifth on both the balance beam and in the floor exercise with scores of 9.725 and 9.70, respectively.

Bernardo closed out UW-Oshkosh's chart of top-six finishers with her sixth-place result of 9.55 points on the vault.

Ashley White was a multiple event winner for Centenary College. She captured first place on the vault with 9.70 points and in the all-around competition with 38.625.

The Ladies also obtained winning scores of 9.875 from Navia Jordan in the floor exercise and Allison Scates on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh competes at defending WIAC champion UW-La Crosse next Friday (Feb. 3).
