Walker Earns 10th All-America Gymnastics Award

Krystal Walker capped her exceptional career by earning her fourth consecutive All-America award in the all-around competition and her 10th All-America laurel overall at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships this weekend in Brockport, N.Y.

Walker claimed her most recent All-America honor by placing seventh in the all-around event with a score of 38.325 at the NCGA meet hosted by The College at Brockport on Friday (March 18) and Saturday (March 19) in the Tuttle North Gymnastics Center. The top 10 scores during Friday's all-around competition earned All-America status.

Walker becomes the third gymnast in UW-Oshkosh history to collect at least 10 All-America citations. Mary Leivian (1986-89) claimed a school-record 25 total All-America honors from three different organizations, while Lynnda Hahn (1990-93) was a 13-time NCGA All-American.

Walker also becomes the fourth Titan to win four consecutive All-America accolades in the all-around competition, joining Hahn, Leivian and Tiffany Barden (1996-99).

Walker achieved this year's all-around value by scoring 9.775 points in the floor exercise, 9.750 on the balance beam, 9.450 on the uneven bars and 9.350 in the vault. Her scores in the floor exercise and on the balance beam matched her career bests established in 2015 and 2014, respectively.

Eboni Jackson from Winona State University (Minn.) won Friday's NCGA all-around event with a score of 38.800.

Walker also participated in Saturday's event finals in the floor exercise and on the balance beam. She finished 13th in the floor exercise with a score of 9.650 and 14th on the balance beam with a score of 9.470. The top 12 individuals in Saturday's finals received All-America mention.

Candis Kowalik from The College at Brockport won the balance beam title with a score of 9.850, while Alexandra Kopp from Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) and Lisa O'Donnell from UW-Whitewater shared the floor exercise championship with scores of 9.850.
