Titans Suffer Close Loss To Blugolds

UW-Oshkosh's Dana LoCascio and Amanda McBrayer shared second place on the balance beam and third place on the vault during the Titans' 185.100-183.975 loss to the UW-Eau Claire women's gymnastics team on Friday (Feb. 26) in Eau Claire.

UW-Oshkosh had four of the top six performers on the balance beam, including LoCascio and McBrayer who tied for second place with 9.325 points. Krystal Walker finished fourth for the Titans with 9.25 points and teammate Kylie Fischer sixth with 9.15.

On the vault, LoCascio and McBrayer both ranked third with 9.35 points. The Titans' Kimberly Robertson placed fifth on the apparatus with a score of 9.30.

UW-Oshkosh had another pair of gymnasts tie for third place on the uneven bars. Walker and Kasandra Stamopoulos shared that listing by recording scores of 9.225.

In the floor exercise, UW-Oshkosh's Bailey Finin finished second with 9.55 points and both Fischer and Walker sixth with 9.375.

UW-Oshkosh had the only two contestants in the all-around competition, and results featured Walker placing first with 37.075 points and Fischer second with 36.775.

Four different Blugolds won events as Tori Erickson tallied 9.35 on the balance beam, Liz Stubbs 9.70 in the floor exercise, Hannah Wendel 9.40 on the vault and Lauren Zurowski 9.525 on the uneven bars.

47.325 points in the floor exercise, 46.425 on the uneven bars, 46.325 on the vault and 45.025 on the balance beam produced UW-Oshkosh's overall team score.

UW-Eau Claire achieved its overall team value with 46.80 points in the floor exercise, 46.50 on the vault, 46.15 on the balance beam and 44.525 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh competes at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional next Friday (March 4) in La Crosse.
