Titans Have Little Trouble With Blue Devils

The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team dominated three of the four events and cruised to a 185.60-179.00 victory over UW-Stout on Friday (Feb. 19) in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-Oshkosh, which recorded its second-highest score of the season, owned five of the top six finishers in the floor exercise and four of the top six finishers on both the balance beam and vault.

In the floor exercise, Krystal Walker took first place with 9.525 points while teammate Bailey Finin finished second at 9.50. The Titans' Kylie Fischer finished fourth with a score of 9.375, Dana LoCascio fifth at 9.30 and Kimberly Robertson sixth at 9.225.

Led by Kasandra Stamopoulos' first-place score of 9.425, UW-Oshkosh swept the top three finishes on the uneven bars. The Titans also had Emily Ryan place second with 9.40 points, Walker third with 9.375 and Fischer fifth with 9.275.

Walker paced UW-Oshkosh's top performers on the balance beam with her second-place score of 9.50. Dana LoCascio finished fourth for the Titans with 9.45 points, while Stamopolous place fifth with 9.375 and Amanda McBrayer sixth with 9.325.

Robertson was the Titans' top scorer on the vault. She placed third with 9.25 points, while Ryan finished fourth with 9.025 and Walker sixth with 9.00.

Walker outscored a pair of UW-Stout competitors to win the all-around competition with 37.400 points.

UW-Stout's Kayla Jondahl, who finished second to Walker in the all-around competition with 36.30 points, tallied 9.325 points to share first place on the vault with teammate Kelly Huseman.

The Blue Devils' Randi Schorzman captured first place on the balance beam with a score of 9.60.

UW-Oshkosh reached its overall team score with 46.925 points on both the balance beam and in the floor exercise, 46.575 on the uneven bars and 45.175 on the vault. The Titans' numerical figure on the uneven bars established a season best.

UW-Stout achieved its overall team score with 45.35 on the vault, 44.80 on the uneven bars and 44.425 on both the balance beam and in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh visits UW-Eau Claire next Friday (Feb. 26) for another dual meet.
