Titans Perform Well in Loss To Division I Falcons

Krystal Walker placed among the top three finishers in four categories during UW-Oshkosh's 188.85-184.20 loss to the United States Air Force Academy (Colo.) women's gymnastics team on Saturday (Jan. 30) in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The NCAA Division I Falcons swept all five individual titles and outscored the Division III Titans in each of the four events. The Air Force Academy tallied 47.65 points in the floor exercise, 47.625 on the vault, 47.15 on the uneven bars and 46.125 on the balance beam.

Fueled by season-best scores of 47.325 on the vault and 47.20 in the floor exercise, UW-Oshkosh compiled 184.20 overall points for the second consecutive meet. The Titans also earned 44.95 points on the uneven bars and 44.725 on the balance beam.

Walker finished second for UW-Oshkosh in the all-around competition with 37.50 points. The Falcons' Kara Witgen tabulated 38.00 points to defeat Walker and Air Force Academy teammate Jamie Lewis, who finished third with a score of 36.725.

UW-Oshkosh owned three of the top four scores on the vault as Walker tied for second with 9.55 points while Dana LoCascio and Kimberly Robertson both tied for fourth with 9.50.

Walker also tied for second in the floor exercise and finished third on the balance beam with scores of 9.625.

The Titans also had Bailey Finin finish fourth in the floor exercise with 9.575 points, LoCascio sixth on the balance beam with 8.875 and Emily Ryan sixth on the uneven bars with 9.325.

In addition to her victory in the all-around competition, Witgen also finished first on both the vault and uneven bars with scores of 9.70 and 9.675, respectively.

The Air Force Academy also received winning scores of 9.775 on the balance beam from Sarah Neumann and 9.70 in the floor exercise from Casey Bell.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it competes at Winona State University (Minn.) on Feb. 9.
