Titans Place Third In Quadrangular

The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team finished third with a season-best score of 184.200 at a quadrangular hosted by defending WIAC champion UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Jan. 23).

UW-Whitewater surpassed 47 points in each of the four categories, including 47.725 in the floor exercise, to capture the team title with an overall score of 190.00. UW-Eau Claire finished second to the Warhawks with 184.625 points and UW-Stout fourth with 181.075.

UW-Oshkosh achieved its overall value with 46.50 points in the floor exercise, 46.225 on the balance beam, 46.20 on the vault and 45.275 on the uneven bars. The Titans owned three of the top eight scores in the floor exercise and three of the top 11 marks on both the balance beam and vault.

Dana LoCascio led UW-Oshkosh with a first-place score of 9.775 on the balance beam. The Titans also had Krystal Walker finish fourth on the apparatus with a score of 9.65, Barbara Bass 11th at 9.10 and Danielle Turner 15th at 8.90.

UW-Whitewater swept the top four listings in the floor exercise, but UW-Oshkosh possessed four of the next nine. Turner led the Titans with a sixth-place score of 9.50, while Walker and Bailey Finin finished eighth at 9.35 and Kylie Fischer 13th at 9.25.

On the uneven bars, Fischer was UW-Oshkosh's top performer. She placed 10th with a score of 9.325, while Kasandra Stamopoulos finished 13th at 9.15 and both Madison Reiter and Alexa Swenn 16th at 9.025.

The vault featured three Titans in the top 11. Walker led the trio with a fourth-place score of 9.425, while Amanda McBrayer and Kimberly Robertson both ranked 11th at 9.30.

Walker was UW-Oshkosh's lone contestant in the all-around competition, and she finished second with a score of 36.725.

UW-Whitewater had four event winners, including Lisa O'Donnell who won the uneven bars and floor exercise with scores of 9.675 and 9.65, respectively. The Warhawks also received first-place scores of 9.55 on the vault from Katie Fiorilli and 37.90 in the all-around competition from Courtney Pickett.

UW-Oshkosh travels to Colorado for a meet on Friday (Jan. 29) against NCAA Division I U.S. Air Force Academy.
