Titans Finish Second To Eagles In Triangular

The UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team placed second in a triangular with Hamline University (Minn.) and UW-La Crosse on Saturday (Jan. 16) in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-La Crosse, the defending National Collegiate Gymnastics Association champion, won the meet with 185.625 points, while UW-Oshkosh finished second with 183.00. Hamline University placed third with a score of 177.825.

UW-Oshkosh's overall team score included meet-high values of 46.65 points on the balance beam and 46.40 in the floor exercise. The Titans also tallied 46.45 points on the vault and 43.50 on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh owned four of the top five scorers on the balance beam, including Dana LoCascio who won the event with a figure of 9.60. Krystal Walker finished third with a score of 9.40, while Amanda McBrayer placed fourth at 9.35 and Danielle Turner fifth at 9.30.

The Titans had three of the top seven scorers in the floor exercise. Turner led the UW-Oshkosh trio with a third-place score of 9.475, while Walker finished sixth at 9.425 and Bailey Finin seventh at 9.40.

Walker, who captured the all-around title with 37.575 points, also placed third in the vault with 9.425 points and fourth on the uneven bars with 9.325.

Other UW-Oshkosh results featured Kylie Fischer ranking fourth in the all-around competition with 34.65 points, McBrayer seventh on the vault with 9.35, Emily Ryan eighth on the uneven bars with 8.85, Kimberly Robertson 10th in floor exercise with 9.10 and Kasandra Stamopoulos 10th on the balance beam with 9.00.

UW-La Crosse had the meet's remaining event winners as Amy Enright won the uneven bars with 9.70 points, Chelsie Richards the floor exercise with 9.55 and Samantha Wiekamp the vault with 9.625.

UW-Oshkosh competes in a quadrangular with UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout and host UW-Whitewater next Saturday (Jan. 23).
