Titans Defeated By Defending National Champion Warhawks

Krystal Walker won the all-around competition and shared the top ranking in the floor exercise during UW-Oshkosh's 189.65-186.95 loss to two-time defending NCGA champion UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Feb. 28) in Whitewater.

Walker compiled a season-best 38.275 points in the all-around competition to defeat three other gymnasts. She also recorded a season-high 9.775 points in the floor exercise to share first place with UW-Whitewater's Lewa Evans and Steffi Heuer.

Walker completed her performance with a second-place score of 9.575 on the balance beam, a third-place value of 9.475 on the vault and a sixth-place figure of 9.45 on the uneven bars. Her scores on the uneven bars and vault were also season highs.

The Titans owned four of the top six performances on the balance beam. In addition to Walker, UW-Oshkosh had Elizabeth Kiel finish fourth with 9.40 points, Barbara Bass fifth with 9.325 and Tabitha Dorshorst sixth with 9.30.

UW-Oshkosh also received a fourth-place score of 9.525 on the uneven bars from Leane Blais.

The Titans' Kimberly Robertson and Danielle Turner finished sixth with scores of 9.35 on the vault and 9.675 in the floor exercise, respectively.

UW-Whitewater's Katie Fiorilli won the uneven bars with a score of 9.625 and the vault with a mark of 9.725. The Warhawks' Kristen Shackleton took first place on the balance beam with a score of 9.65.

UW-Oshkosh registered its second-highest team score of the season by counting 47.25 points in the floor exercise, 46.975 on the uneven bars, 46.55 on the balance beam and 46.175 on the vault. The Titans have now surpassed 181 team points in six of their seven meets this season.

UW-Whitewater's team score was calculated with 48.00 points in the floor exercise, 47.675 on the uneven bars, 47.45 on the vault and 46.525 on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh hosts Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Friday (March 7) in the Titans' final home meet of the season.
