Blue Devils Register Win Over Titans

Leane Blais (So. • Salisbury, N.C.) and Steffani Meusburger (Jr. • Highlands Ranch, Colo.) shared first place on the uneven bars as the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team lost a 185.45-181.30 decision to UW-Stout on Friday (March 1) in Menomonie.

Blais and Meusburger tied for the top listing on the uneven bars with a score of 9.40. Both gymnasts added sixth-place results, with Blais marking 8.975 points on the balance beam and Meusburger recording 9.15 in the floor exercise.

The Titans' Stephanie Gorman (Jr. • Belvidere, Ill.) contributed a pair of top-five finishes by placing second on the vault with a score of 9.55 and fifth on the balance beam with a value of 9.05.

UW-Oshkosh's Krystal Walker (Fr. • Chicago, Ill.) ranked fourth on the balance beam with a score of 9.10. She also took third in the all-around competition with 36.425 points.

Abby Zubella (Sr. • Appleton) completed UW-Oshkosh's top efforts by finishing fifth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.175.

Brittany DeZiel took first place in three categories for UW-Stout. She recorded 37.925 points in the all-around competition, 9.55 on the balance beam and 9.50 in the floor exercise.

The Blue Devils' Katherine Prouty placed first on the vault with a score of 9.575.

UW-Oshkosh's overall score included a season-best 46.125 points on the vault. The Titans also scored 45.325 points on the uneven bars, 45.30 in the floor exercise and 44.55 on the balance beam.

UW-Stout's overall figure featured a school-record 47.50 points on the vault. The Blue Devils marked 46.625 points in the floor exercise, 46.30 on the uneven bars and 45.025 on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh will host the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional next Saturday (March 9) in Kolf Sports Center. Competition begins at 5:30 p.m.
