Titans Sweep WIAC Gymnast Of The Week Awards

Leane Blais (So. • Salisbury, N.C.) was named the outstanding specialist and Krystal Walker (Fr. • Chicago, Ill.) the top all-around competitor as UW-Oshkosh swept the WIAC weekly women's gymnastics awards for meets held Jan. 14-20. They earned the recognition for their effort at the Ozone Collegiate Classic held Jan. 20 in Knoxville, Tenn.

Performing the first full routine since the tear of her anterior cruciate ligament, Blais won the uneven bars with a score of 9.525. She also finished 12th on the balance beam with a mark of 8.875.

Walker scored 37.15 points to defeat six other all-around contestants. She also placed second on the balance beam with a score of 9.575, eighth in the floor exercise with a mark of 9.425, ninth on the vault with a figure of 9.35 and 12th on the uneven bars with a count of 8.80.

UW-Eau Claire won the four-team meet with 184.60 points, while Centenary College (La.) finished second with 184.275, UW-Oshkosh third with 181.45 and UW-Stout fourth with 180.80.
