Bergesen, Lindberg Receive All-Academic Honors
UW-Oshkosh seniors Amanda Bergesen (Lake Geneva) and Jill
Lindberg (Meridian, Idaho) have been named to the All-Academic Team
by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA).
Bergesen owns a 3.06 cumulate grade point average as a kinesiology
major. Lindberg is majoring in biology and holds a 3.31 cumulative
grade point average.
At the NCGA Championship held March 23-24 in Brockport, N.Y.,
Lindberg competed in two events. She posted a 27th-place score of
9.325 in the floor exercise and a 49th-place mark of 8.575 on the
balance beam. Lindberg’s best showing of the year was a 9.55
floor-exercise tally at the Harley Davidson Invitational.
Bergesen performed only in the floor exercise this season. Her
best result was a 9.05 at the Kentucky Classic on Jan. 7. She added
two scores of 8.95 during February meets with UW-La Crosse and
Hamline University.
A total of 40 student-athletes were selected for the All-Academic
Team. The WIAC accounted for 16 of those women, including six from
UW-La Crosse, three from both UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater and
two from UW-Stout. Ithaca College (N.Y.) also boasted a nation-high
six choices.
