Titans Record Season Bests At Harley Davidson Invitational
UW-Oshkosh accumulated a season-best team score during its
appearance at the Harley Davidson Women's Gymnastics Invitational
held Friday (Feb. 17) in Milwaukee.
Two-time WIAC champion UW-Whitewater won the four-team meet with
186.475 points, while UW-Stout finished second with 185.475,
Hamline University (Minn.) third with 180.5 and UW-Oshkosh fourth
with 178.65.
UW-Whitewater entered the meet ranked sixth in the National
Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) by GymInfo, while UW-Stout
listed 10th, UW-Oshkosh 11th and Hamline University 12th.
UW-Oshkosh's overall value also included a season-best team score
of 45.80 in the floor exercise competition. The Titans had two of
the event's top-nine finishers as Abby Zubella (Jr. •
Appleton) finished fifth with 9.675 points and Jill Lindberg (Sr.
• Meridian, Idaho) ninth with 9.55. UW-Stout's Brittany DeZiel
won the event with a score of 9.725.
The Titans owned three of the top finishers on the uneven bars as
Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) placed third with 9.25
points, Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) fifth with
9.20 and Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) seventh
with 9.175. UW-Whitewater's Katie Thompson took first place on the
apparatus with a score of 9.40.
Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) contributed a
pair of top-seven finishes by placing sixth on the balance beam
with 9.30 points and seventh in the all-around competition with
35.35. The Titans also had Lindberg finish seventh on the balance
beam with a score of 9.25.
On the vault, UW-Oshkosh received 10th-place scores of 9.10 from
Cattelino and Millikan.
Katherine Prouty of UW-Stout was the winner in the all-around
competition with 37.975 points. She also tallied a first-place
score of 9.675 on the vault. UW-Whitewater's Allyse Dieringer won
the balance beam competition with a score of 9.625.
UW-Oshkosh travels to ninth-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Friday (Feb.
24).
