Titan Quartet Competes At NCGA Championship

Stacie Jenkins (Sr. • Peoria, Ill.) posted three top-20 finishes to lead four UW-Oshkosh representatives at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship on March 25-26 in Eau Claire.

Jenkins, appearing at the event for the fourth consecutive year, placed 14th in the all-around competition with a score of 36.575. She also notched 17th-place performances in both the floor exercise (9.500) and the uneven parallel bars (9.100).

The Titans had two entrants on the balance beam, with Jenkins finishing 44th among the 56 gymnasts with her score of 9.000. Jill Lindberg (Jr. • Meridian, Idaho), making her second straight appearance at the NCGA Championship, earned 33rd place with a 9.200.

Alexandria Klier (Fr. • Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) took the 26th position on the uneven parallel bars at 8.900. UW-Oshkosh’s other listings were a 51st-place vault mark of 8.975 by Jenkins and a 52nd-place showing (8.850) in the floor exercise by Abby Zubella (So. • Appleton).

UW-La Crosse captured the team title for the fourth consecutive year. The Eagles’ score of 191.175 outdistanced second-place UW-Whitewater’s 187.550 and third-place Ithaca College’s (N.Y.) 185.375. SUNY-Brockport and SUNY-Cortland tied for fourth place at 185.250, while host UW-Eau Claire (184.725) ranked sixth and UW-Stout seventh (182.475).

Naomi DeLara of UW-Stout won a pair of events, taking the vault with a mark of 9.675 and the balance beam with a 9.825 figure. UW-La Crosse’s Christa Booman earned the all-around title with her total of 38.650 points. Other event champions were Lissette LaFex on the bars (9.70) and Jessica Bolduc in the floor exercise (9.75).
