Delsart, Jenkins Earn WIAC Gymnast Of The Week Honors

UW-Oshkosh swept both awards as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced its Women's Gymnast of the Week winners for meets held Feb. 28-March 6.

Paula Delsart (Sr. • Green Bay) was named the WIAC's Specialist of the Week and Stacie Jenkins (Sr. • Peoria, Ariz.) the league's All-Around Performer of the Week for their efforts in UW-Oshkosh's 189.375-184.90 road loss to defending WIAC champion UW-Whitewater on March 5.

Delsart, who helped UW-Oshkosh record its highest overall team score since the 2007 season, placed third on the balance beam with a career-high 9.60 points. UW-Whitewater's Katie Thompson won the event with a score of 9.675.

Jenkins finished second in the all-around competition with a career-high 37.85 points. She also took first place in the floor exercise with 9.675 points, third on the uneven bars with 9.475 and fourth on the balance beam with 9.375.

Thompson won the all-around competition with 38.375 points and the uneven bars with 9.625.

UW-Oshkosh competes at the WIAC Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Regional on Saturday (March 12) in Menomonie.
