Titans Score Big In Loss To Warhawks
UW-Oshkosh tallied its highest women's
gymnastics score since the 2007 season in a 189.375-184.90 loss to
defending WIAC champion UW-Whitewater on Saturday (March 5) in
Whitewater.
The Titans earned their impressive road score with season-best
values of 47.35 in the floor exercise, 46.775 on the vault and
45.10 on the uneven bars. UW-Oshkosh also scored 45.675 points on
the balance beam.
UW-Whitewater reached its second-highest score of the season by
counting 48.075 points in the floor exercise, 47.60 on the vault,
46.975 on the uneven bars and 46.725 on the balance beam.
UW-Oshkosh's Stacie Jenkins (So. • Peoria, Ariz.) placed in
four categories, including the floor exercise where she posted a
winning score of 9.675. She also finished second in the all-around
competition with 37.85 points, third on the uneven bars with 9.475
and fourth on the balance beam with 9.375.
Paula Delsart (Sr. • Green Bay) finished third for the Titans
on the balance beam with 9.60 points, while Stephanie Gorman (Fr.
• Belvidere, Ill.) placed fourth on the vault with 9.525.
The Titans took sixth place in four departments as Dana Herr (Fr.
• Swanton, Ohio) scored 9.40 points on the vault, Alexandria
Klier (Fr. • Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) 9.275 on the uneven
bars, Jill Lindberg (Jr. • Meridian, Idaho) 9.30 on the
balance beam and Alexandria Klier (Fr. • Palm Beach Gardens,
Fla.) 9.575 in the floor exercise.
UW-Whitewater's Katie Thompson won the all-around competition with
38.375 points. She also finished first on the balance beam with
9.675 points and the uneven bars with 9.625. The Warhawks' Allison Nelson took first place on the
vault with 9.625 points.
UW-Oshkosh competes at the WIAC Championship/National Collegiate
Gymnastics Association West Regional next Saturday (March 12) in
Menomonie.
