Titans Place Fourth At Piper Invitational

UW-Oshkosh surpassed 178 points for the fourth consecutive meet as it finished fourth at the Piper Women's Gymnastics Invitational held Sunday (Feb. 27) in St. Paul, Minn.

Winona State University (Minn.) won the four-team meet with 183.05 points, while UW-La Crosse finished second with 182.825, host Hamline University (Minn.) third with 181.225 and UW-Oshkosh fourth with 178.85. The Titans earned their overall team score on 45.85 points on the balance beam, 45.325 on the vault, 44.90 in the floor exercise and 42.775 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh had four of the top 10 finishers on the balance beam as Khrystyna Lychagina (Fr. • River Grove, Ill.) placed fifth with 9.375 points, Dana Herr (Fr. • Swanton, Ohio) sixth with 9.35, Jill Lindberg (Jr. • Meridian, Idaho) eighth with 9.25 and Paula Delsart (Sr. • Green Bay) 10th with 9.05.

The Titans' Stacie Jenkins (Sr. • Peoria, Ariz.) placed in the top seven in three categories. She finished fifth on the uneven bars with 9.125 points, sixth in the all-around competition with 36.225 and seventh in the floor exercise with 9.275.

UW-Oshkosh also had Stephanie Gorman (Fr. • Belvidere, Ill.) rank fifth on the vault with 9.35 points and Brittany Fellman (Sr. • St. Cloud, Minn.) eighth in the floor exercise with 9.25.

Christa Booman of UW-La Crosse captured a pair of first-place medals by winning the all-around competition with 37.925 points and the balance beam with 9.60. The Eagles had two other event winners as Morgan Shene tallied 9.55 points in the floor exercise and Jenna Swails a score of 9.50 on the vault.

Lissette LeFex of Hamline University took first place on the uneven bars with 9.775 points.

UW-Oshkosh visits UW-Whitewater on Saturday (March 5).
