Jenkins Wins Uneven Bars Title At Zuerlein Invitational

Stacie Jenkins (Sr. • Peoria, Ariz.) took first place on the uneven bars as the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team finished third at the Zuerlein Invitational held Friday (Feb. 11) in Menomonie.

UW-Eau Claire won the three-team meet with 182.10 points, while host UW-Stout placed second with 179.775 and UW-Oshkosh third with 179.275. The Titans reached their overall score by compiling a season-best 46.925 points in the floor exercise competition, 44.625 on the vault, 44.175 on the balance beam and 43.55 on the uneven bars.

Jenkins captured first place on the uneven bars with 9.325 points. She also finished second in the all-around competition with 36.325 points and fifth in the floor exercise with 9.45.

UW-Oshkosh had two other multiple place winners in Jill Lindberg (Jr. • Meridian, Idaho) and Abby Zubella (So. • Appleton). Lindberg finished second in the floor exercise with 9.55 points and eighth on the balance beam with 8.95. Zubella placed third in the floor exercise competition with 9.475 points and fifth on the uneven bars with 8.80.

The Titans also obtained a fourth-place score of 8.975 on the uneven bars from Alexandria Klier (Fr. • Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), a sixth-place figure of 9.20 on the vault from Stephanie Gorman (Fr. • Belvidere, Ill.) and a seventh-place value of 9.05 on the uneven bars from Dana Herr (Fr. • Swanton, Ohio).

UW-Eau Claire owned two event winners as Danielle Schulzetenberg scored 36.425 points in the all-around competition and Olivia Aschenbrenner tallied 9.50 on the vault. UW-Stout's Naomi DeLara recorded winning scores of 9.60 in the floor exercise and 9.475 on the vault.

UW-Oshkosh hosts UW-Eau Claire next Saturday (Feb. 19) in Kolf Sports Center.
