Titans Top Gusties In Road Debut

UW-Oshkosh owned the top four performers on the uneven bars as it posted a 172.05-163.575 victory over the Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) women's gymnastics team on Saturday (Jan. 16) in St. Peter, Minn.

Stacie Jenkins (Jr.• Peoria, Ariz.) paced the Titans' string of finishes on the uneven bars with a first-place score of 8.70. Mary Ann Oehlerking (So. • Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) finished second with a value of 8.525, while Darlene Herrmann (Sr. • Newton, N.J.) placed third at 8.45 and Ryan Metzger (Jr. • Hanover Park, Ill.) fourth at 8.25.

Jenkins also won the all-around competition with a score of 34.30 and tied Danielle Thibodeau of Gustavus Adolphus College for first place in the floor exercise with a mark of 9.15.

UW-Oshkosh had the top two finishers on the balance beam as Jill Lindberg (So. • Meridian, Idaho) placed first in 9.175 and Gretchen Fackelman (Sr. • St. Louis, Mo.) second in 8.475.

The Gusties' Thibodeau scored 9.475 points on the vault to complete the list of event winners.

UW-Oshkosh's Stefanie Armstrong (Sr. • Kennesaw, Ga.) finished second on the vault and third in the all-around competition with scores of 9.175 and 33.40, respectively. Armstrong and Oehlerking tied for third place on the balance beam with scores of 8.45.

The Titans also received a third-place score of 9.125 on the vault from Metzger and a fourth-place value of 8.775 in the floor exercise from Abby Zubella (Fr. • Appleton).

UW-Oshkosh's first road meet of the 2010 season featured event scores of 45.05 on the vault, 42.875 in the floor exercise, 42.55 on the balance beam and 41.575 on the uneven bars. Gustavus Adolphus College registered event scores of 45.325 on the vault, 42.975 in the floor exercise, 39.075 on the balance beam and 36.20 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh will host UW-Stout on Friday (Jan. 22) in Kolf Sports Center.
