Braun, Priebe Collect All-WIAC Golf Accolades

UW-Oshkosh's Hannah Braun and Erika Priebe were repeat selections to the 2019 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Golf Team.

The WIAC named five players to both its first and second teams, including UW-Whitewater's Ashton Sinak who was chosen as the league's Player of the Year.

Braun and Priebe were selected to the second team along with UW-Platteville's Markie Ash, UW-Whitewater's Kristin Bowe and UW-Stout's Madison McCambridge.

Joining Sinak on the all-league first team were her UW-Whitewater teammates Ashley Hofmeister, CheyAnn Knudsen and Kelly Storti and UW-Stout's Trystin Kluess.

Klairissa O'Reilly-Dye from UW-Stout was picked as the conference's Newcomer of the Year.

The 2019 All-WIAC Team was determined by using the NCAA Division III Golfstat rankings. A player must have completed at least eight 18-hole rounds this fall in order to be eligible.

Braun's selection to this year's All-WIAC Team was the fourth of her career. She previously earned first team recognition in 2017 and 2018 and second team accolades in 2016. Priebe was a second team award winner in 2018.

Braun played in five of UW-Oshkosh's six tournaments this fall and averaged 78.09 strokes per 18-hole round. She placed ninth with 239 strokes at the 54-hole WIAC Championship held Oct. 4-6 in Reedsburg while finishing second at the Division III Classic and fourth at both the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic and St. Kate's Invitational.

Braun captured the WIAC title in 2018 after placing 10th at the league championship in 2017 and seventh in 2016.

Priebe participated in four tournaments this fall, including the WIAC Championship where she finished 19th with 250 strokes. She averaged 79.55 strokes per 18-hole round while also winning the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic and placing fourth at the Wartburg College Invitational.

Priebe was a seventh-place finisher at the 2018 WIAC Championship.

UW-Stout's Howie Samb was named the WIAC Coach of the Year while UW-Whitewater's Hofmeister was selected as the winner of the league's Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award.

UW-Oshkosh concluded the fall portion of its 2019-20 schedule with a third-place finish at the WIAC Championship.

UW-Whitewater accumulated 933 strokes in winning the WIAC title and earning the league's automatic berth to the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship that will be held May 12-15 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

UW-Stout finished second to the Warhawks with 941 strokes while UW-Oshkosh placed third with 987, UW-Eau Claire fourth with 990, UW-Platteville fifth with 1,006, UW-La Crosse sixth with 1,043, UW-River Falls seventh with 1,060 and UW-Stevens Point eighth with 1,095.
