Titans Obtain Seventh-Place Finish At Division III Classic

Hannah Braun recorded the sixth top-three finish of her career by placing second for the UW-Oshkosh women's golf team at the Division III Classic held Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 14-15) at the Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.

Braun totaled 149 strokes (five-over-par) during the 36-hole tournament to share second place with Katie Engelking of Bethel University (Minn.). Braun, who finished 32nd at the Division III Classic in 2016 and 17th in 2018, achieved this year's listing with the aid of five birdies and 21 pars.

Erin Ericson of Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) won the individual title with 147 strokes while Carleton College's (Minn.) Alyssa Akiyama and Kristin Miyagi tied for fourth place among the tournament's 90 golfers with 151.

UW-Oshkosh's Megan Footit and Erika Priebe tied for 37th place with 165 strokes. Footit accumulated one birdie and 17 pars while Priebe tallied three birdies and 13 pars.

The Titans also had Lauryn Davis and Margherite Pettenuzzo tie for 43rd place with 166 strokes and Dianna Scheibe finish 60th with 175. Davis counted two birdies and 14 pars, Pettenuzzo two birdies and 18 pars and Scheibe one birdie and 13 pars.

UW-Oshkosh finished seventh in the team competition with 646 strokes (70-over-par). The Titans earned their final score by reducing their daily 18-hole count from 333 strokes on Saturday to 313 on Sunday.

Carleton College won the 14-team tournament with 618 strokes. St. Catherine University (Minn.) finished second with 621 strokes, Bethel University third with 622, Gustavus Adolphus College fourth with 627 and College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) fifth with 631.

UW-Oshkosh competes at the St. Kate's Fall Invitational next Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 21-22) at The Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake, Minn.
