Titans List Ninth At Mad Dawg Invite

Coree Georgenson (Sr. • Stevens Point) shot a first-round 89 to highlight UW-Oshkosh's performances at the Mad Dawg Invite on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 29-30) in Stevens Point.

UW-Stout captured the team title with a 36-hole score of 669 strokes (+85). UW-Whitewater followed in second place at 673, along with Viterbo University in third (696), UW-River Falls fourth (697) and UW-Platteville fifth (712). The Titans totaled a 764 for ninth in the 10-team event.

Georgenson finished with a two-day score of 191 for 34th place. The top UW-Oshkosh finisher was Theresa Henke (Jr. • Wisconsin Rapids), who used 186 shots for 29th.

Taylor Wenzel (So. • Franklin) grabbed 38th place with her 196, while Amanda Bingham (Sr. • Mukwonago) was 39th with a 197. Sarah Sheldon (Jr. • Janesville) rounded out the team with her 42nd-place figure of 199.

Brit McNett-Emmerich (UW-Stout) ran away with the individual crown, marking scores of 76 and 77 to finish seven over par. Gillian McDonald (UW-River Falls) came in second at 159, while McKenna Prestigiacomo (UW-Stevens Point) earned third with a 164.

Stevens Point Country Club played to a par of 73 at 5,404 yards.

UW-Oshkosh concludes its season at the WIAC Championship next weekend (Oct. 5-7) in Wisconsin Rapids.
