Titans Scramble For Third Place At Own Invitational

Six Titans shot their best score on the final day as UW-Oshkosh finished third in its own women's golf invitational held Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 8-9) at the Oshkosh Country Club.

UW-Whitewater won the 36-hole event with a team score of 702 strokes. Carroll University came in second with 722, while UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville tied for third with 771.

The eight-team meet concluded with UW-Stevens Point in fifth place with 777 strokes, St. Norbert College in sixth with 800, Viterbo University seventh with 814 and Marian University eighth with 845.

UW-Oshkosh's Amanda Bingham (Sr. • Mukwonago) posted a pair of 90s to finish in ninth place, while Theresa Henke (Jr. • Wisconsin Rapids) used 89 shots on Sunday to take 12th at 185. Sarah Sheldon (Jr. • Janesville) then earned 21st place with her 193 strokes, Taylor Wenzel (So. • Franklin) 23rd with her 194 and Coree Georgenson (Sr. • Stevens Point) 24th with her 199.

Other Titans competing in the meet were Samantha Atkielski (So. • Pleasant Prairie), who finished 43rd at 217, and Emily Mallek (So. • Plover), who placed 45th at 219.

UW-Whitewater's Nicole Westcott topped the 56-golfer field with a winning score of 167 strokes. McKenna Prestigiacomo of UW-Stevens Point finished second with 171 strokes, Angelina Parrinello of Carroll University third with 175, Morgan Zuleger of Carroll University fourth with 176 and Megan Ramp of UW-Whitewater fifth with 177.

UW-Oshkosh heads to La Crosse for the Viterbo University Invitational next weekend (Sept. 15-16).
