Titans Earn Second Place At Ripon College Invite
Kim Sippl (Sr. • Omro) closed with a round of 82 to lead
UW-Oshkosh to second place in the Ripon College Golf Invitational
on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 17-18) in Berlin.
UW-Whitewater’s two-day total of 702 strokes (122 over par)
earned it the team title, while the Titans used 734 shots for
second. Ripon College followed in third at 749, while St. Norbert
College grabbed fourth (755), Viterbo University fifth (786) and
Finlandia University sixth (995).
Viterbo’s Lauren Lindsley was the class of the field, marking
a 36-hole score of 155 (+10). Next in line, 14 shots back, were
UW-Whitewater’s Megan Rump and Gianna Tenuta at 169. Sippl
carded a 170 to take the fourth position, as St. Norbert’s
Kathleen Geraghty came in fifth at 175.
All five Titans finished in the top 20, including Andrea
Kirchenwitz (Fr. • Sheboygan), who placed sixth with her 179.
Theresa Henke (So. • Wisconsin Rapids) improved by 14 shots
during her final round to earn 12th place at 190. Emily Mallek (Fr.
• Plover) contributed a 16th-place result (195) and Sarah
Sheldon (So. • Janesville) a 20th-place score of 206 to
conclude UW-Oshkosh’s group.
Seven teams, totaling 31 individuals, competed on Mascoutin Golf
Course. Par for the two rounds was 145 strokes.
UW-Oshkosh travels to Janesville for the UW-Whitewater Invitational
next weekend (Sept. 24-25).
