Titans Place Eighth At Mad Dawg Invitational
UW-Oshkosh totaled 379 strokes in both the first and second
rounds to take eighth place at the Mad Dawg Invitational on
Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 1-2) in Stevens Point.
UW-Whitewater won the eight-team competition with a mark of 671
(91 over par). Carroll University followed in second at 678, while
host UW-Stevens Point came in third (683) and Viterbo University
rounded out the top four with its 686. The Titans compiled 758
shots over the 36 holes.
Three players posted a 162 to battle for individual honors.
McKenna Prestigiacomo (UW-Stevens Point) won the playoff, as
Carroll’s Angelina Parrinello took second and the
Pointers’ Mary Welch stood third. UW-Whitewater’s
Nicole Wescott closed with a 77 to earn fourth place at 164.
Kim Sippl (Sr. • Omro) again paced UW-Oshkosh, using 171
shots for 11th place. The Titans also received a 184 for 31st place
from Theresa Henke (So. • Wisconsin Rapids) and a 189 (39th
place) by Andrea Kirchenwitz (Fr. • Sheboygan). Coree
Georgenson (Jr. • Stevens Point) carded a 214 and Amanda
Bingham (Jr. • Mukwonago) a 228 to conclude the 45-player
field.
Par for the two days was 145 strokes, as the course measured 6,379
yards on both Saturday and Sunday.
UW-Oshkosh concludes its fall schedule at the WIAC Championship
next weekend (Oct. 7-9) in Wisconsin Rapids.
