Chase, Titans Victorious In Season Opener

Individual and team honors went to UW-Oshkosh as the Titans opened their 2010-11 women's golf season with victories over both Ripon College and St. Norbert College on Wednesday (Sept. 1) at the Oshkosh Country Club.

UW-Oshkosh won the 18-hole meet with 379 strokes, 87-over-par. Ripon College finished second in the team standings with 391 strokes and St. Norbert College third with 434.

UW-Oshkosh's Alyssa Chase (So. • Sun Prairie) captured the top individual listing with 87 strokes, 14-over-par. Amanda Holdshoe of Ripon College finished second with 93 strokes, Kim Sippl (Jr. • Omro) of UW-Oshkosh third with 96 and Amanda Peterson of Ripon College fourth with 97. Theresa Henke (Fr. • Wisconsin Rapids) and Sarah Sheldon (Fr. • Janesville), both of UW-Oshkosh, tied for fifth-place with 98 strokes.

The Titans also had Coree Georgenson (So. • Stevens Point) finish seventh with 99 strokes, Amanda Bingham (So. • Mukwonago) eighth with 100 and Kailee Wahler (Fr. • Twin Lakes) 12th with 104.

UW-Oshkosh returns to action when it hosts the seven-team UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Sept. 11-12 at the Oshkosh County Club.
