Titans Take Fifth Place At UW-Platteville Invitational
The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team finished fifth out of six
squads at the UW-Platteville Invitational held Saturday and Sunday
(Sept. 26-27) at the Platteville Golf and Country Club in
Platteville.
UW-Whitewater claimed the team title in the 36-hole tournament with
706 strokes, 130-over-par. UW-Stevens Point finished second with
719 strokes, UW-Platteville third with 722, Carroll University
fourth with 754, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 796 and Clarke College
(Iowa) sixth with 813. The Titans totaled 397 strokes on the first
day of competition and 399 on the second.
UW-Oshkosh's Emily Wichman (Sr. • Neenah) placed 13th among
the meet's 30 golfers with 186 strokes, 42-over-par. She attempted
97 shots on the first day of activity and 89 on the second.
The Titans also had Emily Clark (So. • Janesville) finish 22nd
with 201 strokes, Alyssa Chase (Fr. • Sun Prairie) 23rd with
203, Coree Georgenson (Fr. • Stevens Point) 26th with 206 and
Amanda Bingham (Fr. • Mukwonago) 30th with 247.
UW-Stevens Point owned three of the event's top five golfers,
including Jessica Urban who captured medalist honors with 160
strokes, 18-over-par. The Pointers also had Danelle Olson place
fourth with 174 strokes and Mary Donohue fifth with 175.
UW-Whitewater's Emily Kuiper finished second and Chelsea Davis
third with 169 and 171 strokes, respectively.
UW-Oshkosh is off until it competes Friday and Saturday (Oct. 3-4)
at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational in Stevens Point.
