Titans Finish Fifth At UW-Stevens Point Invitational
The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team placed fifth at the UW-Stevens
Point Invitational held Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 3-4) at the
Stevens Point Country Club in Stevens Point.
Defending WIAC champion UW-Stevens Point won the six-team
tournament with a 36-hole total of 661 strokes, 77-over-par.
UW-Whitewater finished second with 671 strokes, while UW-Stout
placed third with 723, UW-Platteville fourth with 730, UW-Oshkosh
fifth with 777 and UW-River Falls sixth with 824. The Titans
compiled 377 strokes on the first day of action and 400 on the
second.
Emily Wichman (Sr. • Neenah) was UW-Oshkosh's top individual
finisher. She tied for 12th place with 183 strokes,
37-over-par.
UW-Oshkosh also had Alyssa Chase (Fr. • Sun Prairie) finish
19th with 186 strokes, Emily Clark (So. • Janesville) 24th
with 191, Coree Georgenson (Fr. • Stevens Point) 27th with 217
and Amanda Bingham (Fr. • Mukwonago) 29th with 230.
Jessica Urban of UW-Stevens Point won the individual title with 151
strokes, 3-over-par. Mary Donohue of UW-Stevens Point finished
second with 116 strokes and Chelsea Davis of UW-Whitewater third
with 163.
A total of 30 golfers participated in the tournament.
UW-Oshkosh concludes its fall schedule by competing at this
weekend's WIAC Championship in Arkdale. The three-day, 54-hole
tournament begins Friday (Oct. 9) at the Northern Bay Golf Resort
& Marina.
