Titans Conclude Season With Sixth-Place Finish

The UW-Oshkosh women's golf team concluded its 2009-10 season with a sixth-place finish at the Augustana College (Ill.) Invitational held Thursday (April 15) at the Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa.

Ashford University (Iowa) won the 18-hole tournament with 347 strokes, 59-over-par. UW-Platteville and UW-Whitewater shared second-place with 373 strokes, while Augustana College finished fourth with 390, Elmhurst College (Ill.) fifth with 391 and UW-Oshkosh sixth with 396. The event featured golfers from eight schools.

Brittany Boon and Jordan Davis of Ashford University shared first place in the individual rankings with 81 strokes, nine-over-par. Melissa Ellis of UW-Whitewater finished third with 87 strokes, Whitney Heinzmann of Elmhurst College fourth with 88 and Emily Labrecque of Elmhurst College fifth with 90.

UW-Oshkosh was led by Emily Clark (So. • Janesville), who tied Megan Vandersee of Augustana College for 16th place with 96 strokes, 24-over-par. The Titans also had Emily Wichman (Sr. • Neenah) place 18th with 97 strokes, Amanda Bingham (Fr. • Mukwonago) 25th with 99, Alyssa Chase (Fr. • Sun Prairie) 34th with 104 and Coree Georgenson (Fr. • Stevens Point) 37th with105. A total of 52 golfers competed in the tournament.
