Titans Open NCAA Tournament in Ohio; Face Washington and Lee in First Round

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Earning their fourth straight and 18th overall trip to the NCAA Division III Championship, the UW-Oshkosh Titans (19-8) are heading to the Ohio for a four-team regional.

The Titans (19-8) open the first round of the NCAA tournament against Washington and Lee University (22-6) on Friday, March 3rd at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.

Regional Preview

The Titans will travel to Ada, Ohio as the Ohio Northern University Polar Bears serve as the first and second round regional host. The Titans will play in the first game on Friday afternoon. The second game will feature No. 25 Berea (KY) and No. 16 Ohio Northern at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Washington and Lee hold a 22-6 record and earned their conference's automatic qualification for the championship. The Generals are making their second straight and third overall appearance in the NCAA Division Tournament.

Ohio Northern owns a 23-4 overall record and received the Ohio Athletic Conference's (OAC) into the NCAA Tournament with a win in the championship game.

Berea is 26-2 overall and earned an automatic bid with a win in the conference title game on Sunday.

Looking at Oshkosh

The Titans average 61.9 points per game and holds their opponents to 55.5 points per game. The Titans collect 33.5 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 6.3 steals per game. The Titans average 40.8% from the field and lead the WIAC at the free throw line at 73.3%.

Kayce Vaile leads the Titans with 10.6 points per game and leads the WIAC in rebounds per game at 8.1. Ava Douglas and Jenna Jorgensen join Vaile in leading the Titans for scoring with 9.3 and 9.2 points per game. Sarah Hardwick averages 5.6 rebounds per game for the Titans while Douglas leads the team at the free throw line with 82.6% of shots made.

Previewing Washington and Lee  

The Generals are averaging 75.2 points per game and holding their opponents to 59.5 points per game. The Generals are shooting 41.2% from the field and 67.9% from the free throw line. The Generals average 50.7 rebounds per game and 17.4 assists per game.

Leading the Generals, Mary Schleusner averages 14.1 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game. Hanna Malik averages 12.7 points per game while Kathryn Vandiver averages 7.4 rebounds per game.
