Registration Open For Girls Basketball Camps
UW-Oshkosh is holding three basketball camps for girls of all ages during June. The camps will be directed by head women's basketball coach Brad Fischer and assistant coach Ana Wurtz.
Pure Shooting Camp • Grades 7-12
June 10 and 11 • 1-5 p.m.
Pure Shooting Camp is focused on the fundamental development and mastery of shooting technique, form and proper repetition. Campers will learn the differences between shooting off the dribble and off the catch. They will be taught how to understand defenses, read screens, and will be challenged to increase the speed of their footwork and release of the ball. Each participant will take approximately 500 game-speed shots each day.
Complete Post or Guard Camp • Grades 7-12
June 12 and 13 • 1-5 p.m.
The "Complete Post Camp" is unique with its emphasis on skills specific to the camper's playing position. Posts will work directly with UW-Oshkosh coaches, players and other qualified staff who specify at this position.
Posts will learn how to finish at the rim and be a threat away from the basket. An emphasis will be placed on footwork in the paint, screening and rebounding effectively.
"The Complete Guard Camp" will also provide specialized skills for the camper's position. Guards will be introduced to drills that teach them how to handle the ball under pressure, attack and finish at the rim, and be a threat without the ball. Defensively, guards will increase their foot speed to better defend any player.
Posts and guards will combine to focus on transferring skills and concepts to game situations.

The cost for the above camps is $80, or $150 if you attend both the Pure Shooting Camp and one Complete Position Camp.
Girls Basketball Camp • Grades K-8
June 24-27 • 9-11:30 a.m.
This camp is designed to instruct and enhance the fundamental skills of basketball. Special attention will be given to shooting, ball handling, passing and defense, as well as opportunities for 5-on-5 competitions and games. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and skill level to enhance each camper's experience.
