Katelyn Kuehl (So. • Fond du Lac) grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds as UW-Oshkosh dominated the glass in a 54-40 women's basketball win over Ripon College on Tuesday (Nov. 20) in Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans (2-0) held a rebounding edge of 39-22, including 14-5 on the offensive end. Kuehl added seven points and two steals in the contest.

UW-Oshkosh played outstanding defense early, holding Ripon College (1-2) scoreless for more than 10 minutes. The Titans scored 13 points during that span, including a Kuehl three-pointer and an Ashley Neustifter (Fr. • Oshkosh) jump shot, to take a 13-3 lead.

With eight minutes left in the first half, UW-Oshkosh held a 17-6 lead. The Red Hawks then scored 12 of the next 16 points to end the period. Erin Lind tallied five points in the last 4:33 as Ripon College sliced its deficit to 23-21 at intermission.

Lind continued her hot shooting in the second half, converting a three-point shot and two lay-ups to tie the score at 28.

A long-range basket by Neustifter sparked the game-changing run. UW-Oshkosh outscored Ripon College, 12-2, over a six-minute span. After Marissa Selner (Fr. • Kewaunee) grabbed a rebound and put it back in, Heather Conroy (So. • Wisconsin Dells) marked a lay-up to give her squad a 45-34 lead with 6:26 left.

Ripon College pulled within 45-40 on a Lind three-pointer before the Titans scored the final nine points. Megan Wenig (Sr. • Oshkosh) sank all four of her free throws in the closing minute to ice UW-Oshkosh's 10th win over Ripon College in 13 meetings.

Conroy topped the Titans with 12 points, while Sarah Stecker (Jr. • Menasha) scored 10. Neustifter had a strong outing with seven points, six rebounds and six assists.

The Titans shot 41 percent (21-51) from the field, but were just 2-for-11 (18 percent) behind the three-point line. UW-Oshkosh converted 10-of-13 free throws (77 percent).

Ripon College used 18 points from Lind and 12 more by Jill Van Eperen, who also grabbed four steals. Kelly Van Berkel hauled in 10 rebounds for the Red Hawks.

The Red Hawks finished with 34 percent (14-41) shooting from the field and 70 percent (7-10) accuracy from the free throw line. Ripon College made 5-of-15 three-point shots (33 percent).

UW-Oshkosh travels to Judson University (Ill.) on Saturday (Nov. 24).
