Titans Season Ends in NCAA Regional Championship

OSHKOSH, Wis.—One run made the difference in the 2023 NCAA Regional Championship as the UW-Oshkosh Titans softball squad fell 1-0 to the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons.

The Titans conclude the 2023 season with a 36-9 record.

Hannah Ritter (Sr./Marengo, Ill.) was one-for-one at the plate and recorded her fifth perfect game at the plate.

The Falcons scored the lone run of the game in the first inning, as Claudia Utz singled to left field for Sydney Erdmann to score.

The Titans made moves to score in the fourth inning before leaving three runners on base. In total, the Titans left five additional runners on base.

Sophie Wery (So./Seymour, Wis.) was two-for-three at the plate and the only Titan to have a multi-hit game.

In the circle for the Titans, Sydney Nemetz (So./Marinette, Wis.) allowed five hits, one run, and struck out seven batters.

Each team recorded five hits in the game. The Falcons' Gina Followell struck out nine Titans at the plate in the pitchers' battle. 

All-Regional Tournament Team

Ritter, Garceau, and Nemetz were named to the All-Regional Tournament team for the performances this weekend.

2023 Season Quick Highlights

The Titans started the season 17-1, the best start in program history.

The Titans recorded 13 or more shutouts for the third time since the 2001 season.

The Titans tied the school record for most wins in a season at 36. The record was previously set in 2007.

Ritter reset the school record for All-Time Career Hits leader at 207 total hits. Ritter broke the record on May 12, 2023.

The Titans held a top-10 ERA in the nation, including leading the nation with an ERA in March and April.

Six Titans earned All-WIAC honors, with five First Team honorees. Four Titans earned All-Region Second Team honors from the NFCA, while three Titans earned CSC Academic All-District honors.
