
All-Region Team Features Four Titans
UW-Oshkosh placed a senior, junior, sophomore and freshman on the NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Region Team. The squad was selected by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Catcher Katie Koepsel (So. • Oak Creek) and outfielder Hayden Krueger (Fr. • Bristol) were named to the second team, while first baseman Tess Fadness (Jr. • Eau Claire) and pitcher Courtney Wautier (Sr. • Brussels) received third-team awards.
Koepsel, earning her second straight all-region distinction, batted .318 with six homers, 24 runs scored, 24 RBI and 14 walks. She posted a career day against UW-Superior, booking three homers and nine RBI in six at-bats.
Krueger finished with a .402 average and 35 runs as the Titans' leadoff hitter. She also totaled seven homers, eight doubles and 20 RBI. In a sweep over UW-Stevens Point, Krueger went 6-for-9 with two doubles.
The WIAC leader with 13 doubles, Fadness added seven home runs, 23 runs scored, 31 RBI and a .385 average. She tallied five hits, including four doubles, and three RBI against UW-Stout.
Wautier's season was highlighted by her no-hitter against SUNY-Brockport on March 20. She marked a 17-4 record, 1.70 ERA and 106 strikeouts in 136 innings. Wautier held batters to a .219 average while throwing 15 complete games in 18 starts.
During her career, Wautier totaled 50 wins and a 2.76 ERA. Her 395 strikeouts rank 12th in WIAC history. She pitched 523 innings over 110 games.
Fifteen WIAC players were chosen for the All-Region Team, including six on the first team. UW-Whitewater's Katie Boyle and Emily Epifanio, UW-River Falls' Hayley Buchanan and Abbie Morris, UW-Eau Claire's Amanda Fischer and UW-Superior's Ashley Martin gained top honors.
UW-Oshkosh concluded the year with a 25-11 record, the program's best in five years.
