Sydnee Wyss (Jr. • Monroe) slammed a two-run home run in the ninth inning of the nightcap to help the UW-Oshkosh softball team split a doubleheader with UW-Eau Claire on Monday (April 26) in Eau Claire.

The Blugolds (17-17/9-3 WIAC) took game one, 10-2, after marking six times in the bottom half of the sixth frame. UW-Oshkosh won the second contest, 5-3, after Amie Heinzelman (Sr. • Monroe) knotted the game in the seventh inning.

UW-Eau Claire tallied first in the opener, using a two-RBI knock from Bekki Kidnie for the first-inning advantage. Run-scoring singles from Aleisha Harper and Emily Muller in the second frame gave the Blugolds a 4-0 lead.

Marti Meyer (So. • Verona) cut the Titans' deficit to 4-2 in the fourth by blasting a two-run double to center field.

Harper gave the Blugolds a 6-2 advantage in the sixth frame with a run-scoring single up the middle and later marked on an error by UW-Oshkosh (15-17/3-5 WIAC). After Kaity Acker and Sara Baumgartner each smashed RBI singles, Tamara Zeman brought home one more to create the final tally.
